A man whose names is Sunday and a father of two was shot by his very good friend.
The incident took place in a compound at Chualam village along the Bamenda Mbingwi road. Sunday died on the way as he was transported to the hospital. Eyewitnesses say this man had invited his friend to come to their own quarter to visit one of his quarter mates.
They both moved to a shopkeeper at the main business centre of the quarter. It was during their discussion that the visitor asked how he could obtain a gun. The shopkeeper, Anye Felix, then went into his inner room and pulled out a shot pistol and brought out to the visitor. He never alerted the visitor that the gun was loaded. The visitor took the gun to examine it. While examining it his hand inadvertently pulled the trigger.
Unfortunately the barrel was pointing directly at Sunday .The gun went off and got Sunday on the neck. He immediately fell and in an attempt to rush him to the hospital he died. When the police reached the scene Anye Felix and the visiting friend were whisked off the custody where they are assisting the police in the investigation.
Sunday’s copse was later buried at their family compound at Atuofon Mankon.During the burial the family head called on all and sundry to forget about the gory incident. He described it as an accident. He said since the matter was already with the police the two men will better explain the transaction they were carrying out with the gun and the legal backing they had.
